Cairns, in the far northern corner of Queensland Australia,
is the venue for the worldsleep07: The 5th World Congress of the World Federation of Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine Societies to be held 2-6 September 2007.
The meeting will bring together the worlds leading basic and
clinical sleep researchers, clinicians, sleep technologists, students
and industry in the WFSRSMS’s first quadrennial congress in the
Asia-Pacific region. A fascinating scientific programme is
planned with plenary lectures, symposia, thematic poster
sessions and a range of satellite meetings including the
International Symposium on Sleep and Breathing.
Cairns is a vibrant tropical city and the only
place in the world with two adjoining
world heritage treasures, the Great
Barrier Reef and The
Rainforest.
Cairns is in the very heart of the
Asia Pacific region.The Cairns
Convention centre is a world-class
meetings venue located in a

The World Federation of Sleep Research & Sleep Medicine Societies aims to encourage international collaborations, facilitate the generation and dissemination of information, and increase public awareness of the importance of sleep research and the impact of sleep disorders. The WFSRSMS is made up of 7 member societies, who represent more than 10,000 sleep scientists, physicians, and trainees, from over 60 nations and six continents.

The Australasian Sleep Association is the peak scientific body in Australia and New Zealand representing clinicians, scientists and researchers in the broad area of Sleep. Its many functions include the organization of domestic and international scientific meetings, as well as acting in an advisory capacity to government and industry. The ASA is a member society of the World Federation of Sleep Research & Sleep Medicine Societies.
